Install as Workbench replacement, ot's the only way to do it.

You must. TD crashes with DOpus, but DOpus' own menus are more flexible
anyway.

The DefIcons program, but not the icons themselves, you'll want to use
those with DOpus filetypes.

You're doing it right, but not enough. Increasing from 30 to 50 is only
and extra 10K per partition with FFS. You should be using at least 300
per partition, more if you can spare the RAM.
